- 3. Solo Beginner/Novice with Instructor
Usually each session will be thirty (30) minutes in length, 4 sessions each track day, with a one (1) hour “Open Track” session for all drivers at the end of the day. Absent an unusual or unexpected event, each driver will have a minimum of three (3) hours of track time.
TO REGISTER FOR ADVANCED OR INTERMEDIATE, YOU MUST FILL IN YOUR RACETRACK DRIVING HISTORY – OR SUFFICIENT HISTORY – ON POLE POSITION’S WEBSITE. NOVICE DRIVERS MUST HAVE AN INSTRUCTOR AT ALL TIMES. YOU CAN SIGN UP FOR AN INSTRUCTOR during registration. FOR THOSE UNFAMILIAR WITH, OR NEED TO REACQUAINT THEMSELVES WITH THE TRACK, ORIENTATION RIDES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR FIRST SESSION. PLEASE SIGN UP FOR AN ORIENTATION RIDE AT THE SIGN-IN DESK. PPTE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REASSIGN A DRIVER TO A DIFFERENT RUN GROUP THAN REGISTERED FOR BASED UPON THE DRIVER’S SUBMITTED DRIVING EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRACK DAY OBSERVATIONS BY THE MARSHALS.

novIce - motorcycles
Novice group rank 1 will have both lead and following instructors. It is the instructor’s responsibility to set the pace and show the proper riding lines for the track. Instructors will progressively build up speed depending upon each novice’s progression. Instructors will be using hand signals (see below) throughout the day to relay information while out on the track. During the initial laps of the early sessions, there will be no passing of instructors unless instructed to so by instructors using hand signals. This will be a time where novices will be learning proper track lines. In later sessions passing is allowed anywhere except in the corners.
experienced - motorcycles
This group is for riders who have attended track day events previously or have racing experience. Intermediate has less supervision and structure than a novice. Passing is allowed on all parts of the track. Riders should allow 6 feet buffer other riders when making a pass. The following rider making the pass is expected to make the pass as safely as possible.
THERE IS NO RACING PERMITTED AT THE EVENT. SAFETY MARSHAL & INSTRUCTORS WILL BE MONITORING ALL DRIVERS ON THE TRACK AND IN THE PADDOCK. IF DRIVING IN AN UNSAFE MANNER IS OBSERVED OR THE TRACK RULES ARE NOT BEING FOLLOWED, SUCH DRIVERS WILL BE ASKED YOU TO LEAVE THE TRACK. IF REPEATED WARNINGS ARE IGNORED, POLE POSITION TRACK EXPERIENCE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ASK YOU TO LEAVE THE VENUE. POOR OFF-TRACK BEHAVIOR AND FAILURE TO HEED THE MARSHAL’S DIRECTIONS MAY ALSO RESULT IN A PREMATURE ENDING OF YOUR TRACK DAY. OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE A FUN AND EXHILARATING TRACK DAY AND WE DO THIS BY STRESSING SAFETY ABOVE ANYTHING ELSE!
- Tap on their tail section: Move-in directly behind me and follow my line
- Slash across throat: Pit immediately
- Arm waving past: OK to pass now
- Arm moving up and down: Slow down
There will be corner workers positioned at strategic points around the track to monitor for potential hazards. Should any situation occur, they will be armed with flags (and radios-if you are monitoring the track frequency)to alert you of any hazards. It is the driver’s/rider’s responsibility to know what the race flags mean and to observe the corner workers. Corner workers are essential to a safe experience. The track marshal oversees all activity on the track and is responsible for maintaining a safe environment. What he says, goes.
